I know its been a while....

I have not posted in so long, and I have neglected the xanga/blog world of my own on here. But now I will post some photos and relate to you all what has been going on in my life lately. I have seen God ever so present even more than usual lately ever since good friday. I just feel like He is walking beside me, but I have not felt this all my walk with Him. And just because I might feel Him now so close, does not mean when I don't he is not near, its just that He is showing Himself even more I have noticed than usual. I love that when God is there it seems throughout my day and I feel like I can go on and that life has meaning, even though it does, life is our place to serve God until He comes back for us;but, right now life in my mind and my vision right now just has purpose every waking moment because of my Savior being right there and me actually paying attention to Him.

Here are some verses that I have just been looking at over and over I feel like they were written for this time in my life, when I am uncertain of the future, but I know in this moment I am living for Jesus and that is my goal.

Psalms 112 was a chapter I was reading this week over and over and these few verses from it spoke to me the most, "He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies."

I just love these words, I don't need to be afraid, because I trust in the Lord and my heart is established! No fear when Jesus is on your side. I also want to aspire to say Colossians 3:16 " Let the WORD of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom!" now that is a huge thing to concure, but I have been slowly trying to memorize and fill my heart with more knowledge of the scriptures.

Another thing besides building my faith by reading scripture and letting dwell richly in my heart, I have been learning another spiritual discipline which is to communicate without anger, wrath, malice, or filthly communication!I read from Colossians 3:8, which says," But ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, filthy communication out of your mouth!."  This is so hard for me and is a fault I have not mastered and will not be able to master, I will always have sin, but I am thankful without words for my Saviors saving grace and forgiving me. But this does not mean I can try and perfect my character by getting rid of my filthy communcation and trying to tame my tongue to be more Christ like. Like hiding His Word in my heart, this is another spiritual discipline I am working on. Please pray for me in this, as I want to do this Christ, my family, my future husband( Lord willing He sends me a christian husband) and for the Church family.

My father and my mother and sister and I have seen Satan at work as well as our Lord. When christians are growing and Satan sees that we are walking closly with our Lord he tries to pull us away from Christ. I have seen this in my life, my family, and church family, its been very prevident lately. My dad reminded me of the verses in james one which really gave me comfort and joy! But this is what our Lord tells us in James "My brethren count it all joy when ye fall into temptation. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given."

God says that we may fall into to temptation or be tempted, but this is a trying of our faith. My dad said when this happens we are growing and it is a test of our faith. We are growing as a family, myself also and our church and Satan sees this, but God says in his Word also nothing will come into our path that is too much for us to handle. I have asked God for wisdom in these two areas I have had a hard time in spiritually and with the other hard things my family and church are going through and He has given wisdom and other things I am still waiting, but I have comfort in my Savior. thank you God for sending all these verses at the right time.

Well there have been many weekend trips these past few weeks that I want to post some pictures from. My parents and sister were wonderful and took me down town to Washington D.C. since it is only 30 minutes on the metro from our house. I was wanting to see the newly redone National History museum. So we went and we loved the new exhibit they had on the civil war and on Abraham Lincoln. They had some of Lincolns clothes, such as his famous top hat, frock coat, and some other things. But we were so excited, bethany and I when we saw not only Lincolns frock coat, we want to make my dad one in the future for reenacting, but we saw Mrs. Lincolns dress! It was gorgeous! It was not something we would as we are only a poor family, but it was a purple velvet dress.Look at that train!! Picture 078 Here is the dress in the back, it was actually two pieces, it was a bodice and the skirt, Bethany pointed out to me that it was two peices instead of one dress. It also indicated which she also pointed out on the description that it had a evening bodice as well, it only showed the day bodice on desplay. We were a little disapointed to not be able to see the other bodice, but this was still great!

It said on the description that this is the day bodice and the buttons are original, but the collar is not original to this dress. They added that, so I don't know what original had as a collar or no collar at all maybe.

     Picture 079

I really like the back of the bodice, is this is small bussle? I am not sure the term, but its pretty.

I like the detail on the top of the sleeve, forget what that is called. Beth will have to tell me or all you CW experts out there.

This past thursday Bethany and I were very excited to go to the Longwood gardens in PA with our two very close friends Stephanie and Lindsey. They have been to these 600 acre gardens many times with their family and told us we would love it so we went along. We were not disapointed at all the tulips and other pretty flowers and the amazing conservatory and we even had a picnic as well. So here is the result of a day trip to the Longwood gardens, I was amazed at God's creation as we spent the day walking and walking and walking and seeing as much as we could.

the end! Bethany for those of you who are friends with us on facebook will be posting a huge ammount of pictures from our trip in more detail! But I wanted to give you all a little taste. I will be posting more regularly, about once or twice a week these coming weeks. School is less hectic with the SAT being this morning, I am glad its over and we are almost drawing to a close of our studies soon in May, so we are exciting doing new reenacting projects, regency for our trip to england in september and modern wear, and I am doing a purse, apron, and hopefully a carry on bag for the trip. So I will keep you all posted. Have a blessed weekend and a worshipful sunday tomorrow!

    In Christ,

    Rebecca
