  • A new hair style

I was reading the Feeling Feminine blog and a young lady from her blog true femininity posted some pictures of a hairstyle and a tutorial on how to do it. I tried to do it and it turned out quite nice! Mine of course looks totally different from her hair style because my hair is naturally curly, but I think it reminds me of the 1930's or or 40's. I don't know if it really looks like that era, but I feel like that era in my outfit today, which is a floral skirt and white top.

the whole outfit, my homemade yellow and orange floral skirt makes me happy!

It is basically just twisting strands of hair into little circles on your head and then pinning them in place with bobby pins. It was pretty easy, mine is lower to my neck than in the tutorial, tomorrow I might try to make the up-do go a little higher.

In the front, it looks so nice and old fashion to me, its kind of similar looking to my 1860's hair look in the front. Go to my archives under the challenge to see how I do my hair for civil war reenacting. And here is the tutorial for the hair I did today. it was lots of fun and so easy! http://feelinfeminine.com/?p=1239 <------ go here to see the tutorial and look around Jocelyns site! Its wonderful and so encouraging for young ladies who want to serve the Lord by being modest and feminine.

Here is a hair style I do all the time, I use little mini claw clips and just put my hair in a messy updo with my curls hanging where ever they may fall.

the back, it turns out differently each time, the curls hang in different spots each time I do it. I just a pony tail holder and put it in a pony tail first. then I twist is up on my head like I am going to do a tight bun, but I let about half of the ends of the pony tail loose and hold it there while I put 2 claw clips on top and 2 to support the bottom of the messy bun type thing and you are done.

the front, I like the back so much better!

and since I am putting up hair, here are some pictures of 1860's hair styles.

a picture from this past weekends reenactment, I did it a little differently that time. This was the 146th gettysburg reenactment. I will post more pictures in a later entry this week. This entry is all about hair!

the front looks similar to the hair style I did today with the rolls.

the back is four different braids twisted into a bun and the rolls twisted last into the bun and a comb on top.

Well I will be posting some Bible verses and pictures from the reenactments my family and I went to these past two weekends later today or tomorrow. God bless and may you all have a productive week and be encouraged by your Savior's sacrifice, knowing we make very small sacrifices for our faith and He made the biggest and best of all dieing for our sin and rising again! He is alive and thank you Jesus for your saving Grace!

    For Christ and His convenants,

    Rebecca
